Send Product back to Draft State

There is an infinite error when trying to change the color of an item in Product form.
Please create a function to allow me to send the item back to draft state, change the color correctly, then send back to product with all the data.
I have to delete the product, re-add it and change color that way which is very annoying and not scalable at all.
